Temples & Beaches of Orissa

The “Temples & Beaches of Orissa” Photography Expedition takes you from India’s Northern plains, to the shores and lagoons along the Indian Ocean.

We start this 14 day expedition in the mesmerizing and mysterious Hindu holy city of Varanasi. This pilgrim’s place has almost 100 ghats (temples) along the river’s shore providing a unique background for photogenic riverside ceremonies and other daily activities. You can relax along the shores of the Ganges, enjoy a boat trip over the river or take a long walk past the many ghats.

In Varanasi you will also meet the FairMail teenagers, the FairMail office and learn more about how FairMail works.

With them you travel to three coastal villages along the Indian Ocean with peaceful sunrise’s, breath taking historic temples, beautiful lagoon wildlife and authentic fishing villages. These provide not only a great opportunity for your own photography, but also for the FairMail teenagers to take pictures for their new fair trade cards with your help. 

Besides Varanasi the destinations on this trip are not visited by many foreign tourists. This guarantees an adventurous journey far from the beaten path, filled with genuine photography moments.
