During the 2 week trips you don’t only share the joy of taking pictures together and travelling with the locals, but you also treat one of the FairMail teenagers to a trip which they normally would never be able to afford. This way not only giving yourself a unique holiday experience, but also to one of our talented and motivated kids!

FairMail Peru team on the photography trip into the Peruvian Andes
En enero los adolescentes de FairMail Perú emprendieron un inolvidable viaje de fotografía en los Andes peruanos. Acompañado por 4 viajeros de fotografía extranjera y 2 voluntarios en fotografía. El del grupo de 12 trepó a 4.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, antes de descender de nuevo en el valle interandino alrededor de Huamachuco, Perú. Esto resultó ser el lugar ideal para realizar excursiones a las lagunas de altitud cercanas, aguas termales, caminatas a auténticos pueblos andinos y ruinas pre-incaicos. El viaje fue la mezcla perfecta entre el descubrimiento de sitios poco vistados por turistas, trabajo duro en las fotos para nuevas tarjetas de FairMail y un montón de diversión y risas juntos. – Two 11 day photography trip’s for you and a person of your choice in Peru worth 1.300 euro’s in total. (airplane tickets NOT included!)
– You can choose which trip and when from the list of available trips on the FairMail website.
– You travel with a group of FairMail’s teenage photographers to an off the beaten track photography destination, sharing the joy of travelling and taking pictures together.
What do you have to do:
– All you have to do is send us (i) the name, (ii) e-mail and (iii) telephone number of the person at your employer who is in charge of the Christmas cards, Christmas gift packages or photography purchase so we can approach him or her with our offer for FairMail Christmas cards.
– An optional extra to help us out would be to print or e-mail this digital flyer stating FairMail’s offer for pre-printed or tailor made Christmas cards or e-cards. This way they can already have an idea of what we have to offer and you can help introduce it.
How are you helping FairMail:
All the pictures we are offering are taken by underprivileged teenagers in Peru and India. FairMail trains them in photography skills. They receive 50% of the profit FairMail makes to invest in their own education and housing. So by bringing us in contact with the person in charge of purchasing Christmas (e-) cards or photography you are introducing us to a potential client we would otherwise never come in contact with. If it turns into a sale for FairMail you are helping us find a market for our teenagers photographers and that way contributing to a better future for them.

How do we choose the winner:
From all the people who sent us the required information (see “what you have to do” section above) we will randomly pick ONE winner from the tips that lead to a concrete FairMail Christmas (e-)card order.
The winner will receive notice by the 15th of December 2014 and be published in the first newsletter of 2015.
Employees of FairMail and business partners of FairMail are excluded from the competition.
What’s included:
– English speaking guide (founder of FairMail).
– All overnight stays in a shared room in hostels or with local families during the 11 day trip.
– All meals, except the first day in Trujillo, Peru.
– Transport during basic 11 day program.
– Entrance fees during basic 11 day program.

En agosto 5 adolescentes de FairMail Perú viajaron con 5 fotógrafos extranjeros al bosque de nubes en el norte del Perú. Además de hacer fotos para las nuevas tarjetas FairMail, su objetivo era obtener más información sobre la ruta que un grano de café orgánico toma desde el campo hasta la taza.
Para ello comenzamos en el pequeño pueblo rural de Sicches cerca de la frontera con Ecuador. Este pequeño pueblo, situado en la ceja de selva de los Andes, está habitada por agricultores que son miembros de una cooperativa de café de comercio justo. Al permanecer con estos agricultores durante un par de días, los adolescentes aprendieron no sólo sobre el proceso del café, sino también acerca de cómo sus compatriotas viven en un ambiente muy diferente al de los propios adolescentes. Después de unos pocos días de cosechar café, sesiónes de fotos y cortar caña de azúcar, el viaje continuó a la planta de procesamiento de café. Allí los adolescentes aprendieron acerca de las etapas finales de la producción antes de que el café se exporte a Europa.

El equipo FairMail India acaba de regresar de un maravilloso viaje fotográfico de 10 días a los «Templos y playas de Orissa»
Este vídeo muestra cómo nuestros fotógrafos adolescentes, viajando con turistas extranjeros, se inspiraron en las aldeas de pescadores locales, antiguos templos hindúes y tocando por primera vez el mar. Y muy pronto, la nueva colección de tarjetas de FairMail con impresionantes fotos!

Acercarse más a la gente del lugar le permite tomar imágenes más únicas a ti mismo y al mismo tiempo usted está apoyando a los adolescentes de FairMail a tomar fotos para sus nuevas tarjetas de FairMail.
FairMail is a “proven business concept” that utilizes free resources to combat child labor. The only thing we need to succeed in is finding “local beauty”. This is captured by our teenage photographers with their cameras, after which they finance their own education with the sale of their fair trade images.
It sounds so easy, but where to look?
Everybody who likes taking pictures knows just how inspiring travelling to new places can be for your photography. Because the parents of the FairMail teenagers can’t afford to take their families on a holiday FairMail takes the teenagers to “off-the-beaten-track” destinations in Peru and India to take pictures. Their best pictures taken during the trip will soon be available as stock photography, on-line and as printed greeting card, wall prints and other tailor made photography products which you can view here.

The team of FairMail India just returned from their first photography trip to Uttarakhand in the Indian Himalaya’s accompanied by 4 photographers from Belgium and the Netherlands.
